LKFoto - Letterkenny Photographic Club

Last night I was invited to give a talk about my work with Letterkenny Photographic Club. There was a large attendance on the night it was a packed house with photographers from all over the North West in attendance. The club made me feel very very welcome and they showed great hospitality. I was totally surprised and honoured to be asked to speak at this club as its is one of the bigger well known and well established ones in the area. Many great photographers have given presentations before so I was a little shocked to have been invited for the night to speak, I really didn’t expect it.

That said it was great meeting so many people that I know online to meet them in person and the event was well organised and run. I hope I didn’t talk too much and bore those that were in attendance, the feedback when I got home last night and first thing this morning was positive so happy days :)

Folks, if your in the Letterkenny area and are looking to join a photography club check out LKFoto - Letterkenny Photographic Club on facebook you couldn’t meet a nicer bunch of people who are passionate about photography and I sincerely mean that.

Did I mention they treated me well with tea and biscuits as well that’s always a great start :)

Lovely write up from my good friends in Letterkenny Photographic Club this morning.

The club's first guest photographer of the club year was a very popular choice. A large turnout was there to see Brendan Diver a photographer based in Clonmany, Inishowen, cover a wide range of very interesting topics. He displayed his very fine work ranging from Children to Fashion photography. Brendan is best known for his Northern Lights photography. His photos from the beach in Ballyliffin have deservedly found attention world wide. Brendan also gave us a great insight into the very successful photo workshops he runs in Inishowen, including with the world famous Russian photographer Elena Shumilova, when she came to Donegal to do her first ever workshop outside of Moscow.
It was a very enjoyable evening overall. You can find out more about Brendan and his work on his site www.photosfromireland.com
